For Letterboxd users
Keep the diary. This is the private half.
Letterboxd is what you tell everyone. ciniq is what you actually thought — read across ten dimensions, negatives allowed, shared with one friend who scores the same film blind before either reading is revealed. Nothing here replaces the diary; the import exists because we assume you'll keep both.
Half-stars compress. A public feed compresses further — ratings drift toward what looks defensible with an audience watching. ciniq has no audience: no crowd scores anywhere, no feed, no counts, and a card goes to exactly one person. Your verdict, at full resolution, with no number in the room but your own.
Bring your history in
On Letterboxd: Settings → Data →
Export your data. A zip lands in your Files.
In ciniq: More → Watch history (or during
first launch) → Letterboxd / IMDb / any CSV
→ pick the file.
That's it. ciniq uses it only to stop recommending films you've seen — tonight's queue skips your watched list from the first night.
